Raised between New York and Philadelphia he attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, graduating in 1995. In 1999, Darnell was transplanted to Northern California by way of the U.S. Air Force. After two tours of duty, and his subsequent honorable discharge, Darnell has devoted himself full-time to his art. </span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />

Running the gamut from painting, sculpture, design, bead work to wood carving, Darnell enjoys exploring his subjects through a variety of mediums. Recently, Darnell began showcasing his work at the Midtown Bazaar. While Darnell's paintings and sculptures may be considered his flagship work, he uses his T-shirts as his walking billboards. Says Darnell: "Each T-shirt is one of a kind, there are no two alike. I start with an idea, put it on paper, transfer it to a silk screen and hand-print it on cotton shirts. I also dye a lot of the shirts by hand. I want each shirt to be a piece of art. Art isn't just something that hangs on your wall."</span></span> <span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">You can find One & Only Arts on Facebook or contact Darnell at: oneonlyarts@gmail.com.</span></span><br />

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Say hello to featured vendor, <a href="http://potatobugclothing.com/"><b>PotatoBug Clothing</b></a>, a kid-clothing company created by sisters Michelle Hewitt and Nicole Dickinson. Proud mothers, these sisters got the idea of when one of their children wanted a specific design, and they thought- who knows better what a kid wants than a kid? <a href="http://potatobugclothing.com/">PotatoBug Clothing</a> was then formed. </span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">They start by printing up some designs by cutting potato stamps and using non-toxic paint that is then pressed onto a 100% cotton onesie or T-shirt. They've since expanded into the diaper cake market. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcQ0So4qgYElCL5634Iie1i6bcnVmucfdfzpOp3GAPr9YS2iqyU3wZVNjpBJGcGuwNgj2B9pZfH4UM2OmvKru3zpohWaY0edkfMx75He_NaJq491GQQ-g2IrFTHQZ6LMXgAh5uFuUeb0A/s1600/MonkeySet_blue-1_edited-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcQ0So4qgYElCL5634Iie1i6bcnVmucfdfzpOp3GAPr9YS2iqyU3wZVNjpBJGcGuwNgj2B9pZfH4UM2OmvKru3zpohWaY0edkfMx75He_NaJq491GQQ-g2IrFTHQZ6LMXgAh5uFuUeb0A/s400/MonkeySet_blue-1_edited-1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">A life-long student of the arts, Jessica Di Giacomo has studied and worked in a variety of art mediums, but it was on an unassuming afternoon at a garden club meeting that Jessica found her artistic mode of expression- gourds. "I was hooked," says Di Giacomo, "the lecturer brought in gourds from her garden, and as a project, we were to draw or paint on them."</span></span><br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A prime example of her work: An original design woodburned onto the gourd with an aqua wash.</td></tr>
</tbody></table><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: large;">Her interest in gourds has turned into her passion. "Gourds have been used as a functional object for thousands of years," Di Giacomo declares. "Gourds are found in almost all cultures. They've been made into grain containers, ladles, musical instruments, canteens and so much more." The artist's main interest is an traditional form of gourd art design called Pyrography- where a design is produced using heat and burned onto the gourd. Jessica updates this ancient practice by employing a modern wood burning tool to create her designs.</span><br />
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">The passion that goes into Going Gourds and More has become a gourd obsession. The artist now belongs to several gourd groups- including a local Gourd Patch group, as well as state and national chapters of the Gourd Society. Di Giacomo puts this passion to work in her business, selling her gourds online at Etsy. You can also find her in person at our very own Midtown Bazaar. </span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />
